Garcia won't play European Tour finale in Dubai

For the second time in three years, Sergio Garcia is opting not to play the DP World Tour Championship.

Garcia, 27th in the Race to Dubai standings, is choosing not to participate in the European Tour's season finale, his management confirmed to The Guardian.

The 11th ranked player in the world also skipped this event in 2013, cititng at the time fatigue and scheduling concerns.

Earlier this year, the 35-year-old opted not to play the first two legs of the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup Playoffs, the Barclays and Deutsche Bank, before re-joining the fray at the BMW Championship, from which he did not advance to the Tour Championship at East Lake.

He most recently participated in three consecutive events in Asia, the CIMB Classic (T-24), WGC-HSBC Champions (T-11), and BMW Masters (T-11).

The Guardian writes that Garcia's camp "offered no explanation for their client’s latest decision but it seems reasonable to infer he does not have the highest regard for the conclusion of the European Tour’s season or, perhaps, the venue for it," also calling his decision "an obvious blow to tournament organisers."
