RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Brooke Henderson continued her strong start to her sophomore campaign as an LPGA pro.
Closing with a 5-under-par 67 Sunday, Henderson finished tied for 10th at the ANA Inspiration.
After opening her season tying for 21st at the Pure Silk Bahamas Classic, the 18-year-old from Canada has put together six consecutive top-10 finishes. This was her fourth career top-10 finish in a major championship. She finished T-5 in both the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and U.S. Women’s Open last year.
“It was a really an exciting day today,” Henderson said. “I had a lot of fun out there, which was different than my other days this week. I really enjoyed my round and was able to make a few putts.”
Henderson opened with rounds of 73, 69 and 72.
“I didn’t get to jump into Poppie’s Pond this year, but, hopefully, one day in the future I will,” Henderson said.
Henderson opened this season No. 18 in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings with a goal of cracking the top 10. She entered this week at No. 7.
“It’s been really steady,” Henderson said of her start to the season. “My game is definitely in a good place. I want to make a few improvements before Hawaii in two weeks, but I’m really excited with the way it’s started.”
