Hoffmann sings reggae, shoots 66 at Nelson

IRVING, Texas – The secret to Morgan Hoffmann's round of 4-under 66 that vaulted him up the Byron Nelson Championship leaderboard on Friday? He and his caddie spent the entire time singing "Here Comes the Hotstepper."

“We were singing reggae songs today and being as stupid as possible,” he admitted with a laugh.

Whatever it was, it worked. Hoffmann posted a bogey-free 4-under 66 that has him in contention for his first career PGA Tour win entering the weekend.

“Felt really good today,” he said. “Just hit some fairways and hit a lot of greens which made it a lot easier. The spots that I missed in left me some easy up and downs, so it kept the round flowing.”
