PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – With a deluge of rain at PGA National on Saturday, the third round was suspended for the day at 2:51 p.m. The Tour originally intended to resume at 7 a.m. Sunday, but backed up the time to 10 a.m. after further evaluation of the course.
Sunset is projected for 6:21 p.m. Sunday, meaning the multiple delays will likely cause the tournament to stretch into Monday.
After a pair of lengthy delays pushed the completion of the second round into Saturday morning, the third round was halted at 12:51 p.m. ET less than an hour after it began.
When Round 2 was completed, 71 players had made the cut at 4-over 144 or better. The remaining field was re-grouped and sent off split tees beginning at noon, with the lead group of Padraig Harrington, Patrick Reed and Ian Poulter scheduled to tee off at 1:50 p.m.
