It's the same tear that caused to Koepka withdraw from last week's WGC-Bridgestone after 13 holes.
"I have been consulting with my doctor, trainer, and my entire team over the past week. We all feel this is the best decision at this time," Koepka posted.
Koepka, separately, wrote that he will undergo rehab for his injury and hopes to be back by the PGA Championship from July 28-31.
The 16th-ranked player in the world was coming off a stretch of hot play following back-to-back runner-up finishes at the AT&T Byron Nelson and FedEx St. Jude and a tie for 13th at the U.S. Open. He currently occupies the eighth and final automatic qualifying spot on the U.S. Ryder Cup points list.
