Stacy Lewis will be looking to win back-to-back LPGA events when she tees it up in Thursday’s start of the Kingsmill Championship.
And Cristie Kerr will be looking to win back-to-back Kingsmill titles when she begins play at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.
Lewis is the highest ranked player in the field at No. 2 in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings. She won the LPGA’s last event, the North Texas Shootout. Eight of the top 10 in the world rankings are scheduled to play for the $1.3 million purse. No. 1 Inbee Park and No. 7 Shanshan Feng are the only players among the top 10 in the world who aren’t in the field.
Kerr, who is seeking her fourth Kingsmill title, will tee it up on the first tee Thursday right behind Lewis in the 1:25 p.m. tee time with Karrie Webb and Jessica Korda. Kerr won at Kingsmill in 2005, ’09 and ’13.
Lydia Ko is scheduled to go off the 10th tee at 8:25 a.m. Thursday with Paula Creamer and Christina Kim. Lexi Thompson is scheduled to tee it up right in front of Ko at 8:14 a.m. with Azahara Munoz and Ai Miyazato.
