“Flights are booked for June 17th. Look out America, the Lyles are coming back. Planning on starting PGA Tour in October for 2015 season,” Lyle tweeted on Tuesday.
Lyle, who was diagnosed with leukemia for the second time in 2012 and announced in May of the same year that his cancer was in remission, will have 20 events on a major medical exemption to earn $283,825, which combined with his winnings from ’12 would match the amount needed to finish in the top 125 on that season’s money list.
According to Lyle’s manager, Tony Bouffler, the Australian plans to play the last three Web.com Tour events of the regular season, the Price Cutter Charity Championship, News Sentinel Open and WinCo Foods Portland Open starting in early August, as rehab starts and will likely make his Tour debut at the Frys.com Open, which will be played the first week of October.
