The inaugural U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship went to a pair of teenagers, as Rinko Mitsunaga and Mika Liu captured the title at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.

Mitsunaga, 18, and Liu, 16, paired to defeat another teenage duo, Robynn Ree and Hannah O'Sullivan, 4 and 3 in Wednesday's final on the Pacific Dunes course. The highlight of the match came on the par-5 12th, when Mitsunaga holed a wedge from 88 yards to put her and Liu 4-up.

The match was all square through five holes before Liu made three straight birdies on Nos. 6-8 to give her team a lead they would not relinquish.

"My putting was so hot today," Liu said. "I feel like I pretty much made everything, so I was very happy with that."

Mitsunaga plans to attend the University of Georgia in the fall, while Liu made a verbal commitment to Stanford last month.

The final was a well-played match, as Ree and O'Sullivan - who earlier in the week recorded the first 10-and-8 victory in a USGA event since 1955 - lost despite playing 15 holes in 4 under. Neither team counted a bogey during the final match.
