Play in Abu Dhabi set to resume after fog delay

Update: Round 2 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship is scheduled to resume at 10:30 a.m. local time (1:30 a.m. ET), officials said.

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates – The resumption of Round 2 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship has been delayed by heavy fog.

Play was delayed nearly three hours on Friday because of fog and half the field failed to complete Round 2, including world No. 1 Jordan Spieth and No. 3 Rory McIlroy who were through 13 holes.

Play was scheduled to resume at 7:40 a.m. local time (10:40 p.m. ET) followed by the third round.

Officials announced they will send players off the first and 10th tees in threesomes for the third round.
