NCAA champion Cameron Wilson was among the last five players added to this week’s U.S. Open field.
The USGA holds five spots for players who could qualify for the 156-man Open via the top 60 in the Official World Ranking. Two of those berths went to recent playoff losers, Kevin Na (Memorial) and Bernd Wiesberger (Lyoness Open).
The other three spots went to alternates from sectional qualifiers – Wilson (New York), Craig Barlow (California) and amateur Brandon McIver (Oregon). This will be Wilson’s second Open appearance (2012), while Barlow will be making his sixth career start and McIver his debut.
Wilson is in the first group off Thursday, at 6:45 a.m. ET with Daniel Berger and Brett Stegmaier.
Barlow will play at Pinehurst with Tom Lewis and Justin Thomas, beginning at 8:35 a.m. off 1 tee.
Wiesberger will begin his Open at 1:58 p.m. off 10 with Toru Taniguchi and Hyung-Sung Kim, while McIver will play with Smylie Kaufman and fellow amateur Maverick McNaly at 8:46 a.m. off 10.
