New No. 1 Ko grouped with Korda, Martin in Bahamas


PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – Lydia Ko will tee it up for the first time as the Rolex world No. 1 Thursday at the Pure Silk Bahamas Classic alongside the event’s defending champion and with the reigning Ricoh Women’s British Open champ.

Ko is scheduled to go off the Ocean Club Golf Course’s 10th tee at 12:20 p.m. in the first round with Jessica Korda, who won the inaugural event in the Bahamas, and Mo Martin, who won the Women’s British Open at Royal Birkdale last year.

Rolex No. 2 Inbee Park is scheduled to go off the first tee with Paula Creamer and Azahara Munoz at 8 a.m.

Rolex No. 3 Stacy Lewis is grouped with Suzann Pettersen and Lexi Thompson off the 10th tee at 12:30 p.m.

Michelle Wie, Cristie Kerr and Sandra Gal are grouped to go off the first tee at 8:10 a.m.
