Norman 'optimistic' about Trump presidency

Greg Norman is "optimistic" that the American people chose wisely in electing Donald Trump to be the next President of the United States.

The 61-year-old Aussie wrote a column for Newsweek in which he claimed to have told Trump of his impending victory 10 days before the election, and Norman outlined several reasons why he believes Trump is the right man for the job.

"I have spoken to Donald on numerous occasions since the election, and I think he will surprise many with what he will do with the presidency, but not himself," Norman wrote. "He has a clear vision. I believe he will fill a cabinet with quality, experienced doers that are like-minded yet strong enough to redirect him if they so believe."

Norman is a U.S. resident but not a citizen, and therefore was unable to cast a vote in last week's election. But he was happy with the results and is eager to see another avid golfer in the Oval Office.

"We all know that Trump is passionate about the sport and like many presidents before him, I am sure he will use the golf course as a stress-reliever," Norman wrote. "I have been lucky enough to play with previous presidents, so I am hoping the trend continues with President-elect Trump."
