DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – It wasn’t a good day for Cheyenne Woods, either.
With her famous uncle, Tiger, struggling to a 77 Thursday in his return from injury at the Hero World Challenge at Isleworth, Cheyenne stumbled in the second round at LPGA Q-School, posting a 79 at LPGA International.
Thanks to an opening round 68, Cheyenne didn’t shoot herself out of the hunt for an LPGA tour card. At 3-over 147, she’s tied for 80th. She has three more rounds to try to finish among the top 20 who earn full LPGA membership status at week’s end, or the next 25 that earn conditional status.
Woods, 24, played the more difficult Hills Course on Thursday and will be back on the Jones course on Friday. The field of 154 will be cut to the low 70 and ties on Saturday.
