SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Keegan Bradley is an unabashed New England Patriots fan. And just in case you hadn’t heard, his team is playing in the Super Bowl this week right here in the Phoenix area. And yes, he’s got a ticket to the big game.
“I'm so pumped,” he said Thursday. “I never thought I'd get to go to a Super Bowl in my life, let alone go and watch the Patriots play and win one. It's going to be a lot of fun.”
All good, right? Well, sort of …
Not that he’s complaining, but Bradley opened with a 6-under 65 at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, which puts him very much in title contention with 54 holes remaining. The tricky part is that the final round won’t end until just before the game starts, so if he’s playing late that afternoon, getting to the stadium could be a difficult situation.
“I will do whatever it takes to get to that game, so if I have to get in a car and go 150 miles an hour, I'm going to do it. I can't be this close to a Super Bowl with the Patriots playing and not go. So I will be there at some point.”
