Suzann Pettersen is in the mix to claim her 16th LPGA title.

Pettersen moved two shots off the lead Saturday at the Toto Japan Classic with a bogey-free 6-under-par 66. Pettersen hit all but one green on Saturday and missed just one fairway.

“I’m playing some good golf these days,” Pettersen said. “Today I felt really comfortable on the greens, gave myself a lot of good chances, tried to just keep the card clean and managed to do so. Six birdies, played well, so I’m excited to have a chance.”

Pettersen, 35, is seeking to claim her first LPGA title since winning the Manulife Classic in June of last year. She has had a lot of success in Asia, winning six times in the Far East. She has won in China, South Korea, Thailand and Taiwan, but she’s yet to win in Japan.

“I’m trying to get wins around the world, wherever I go,” Pettersen said.

Pettersen’s game has been heating up on the Asian swing. She finished second to Shanshan Feng at the Sime Darby Malaysia last week.
