The PGA Tour on Monday announced its five nominees for the 2014 PGA Player of the Year.

PGA and British Open champion Rory McIlroy, FedEx Cup champion Billy Horschel, U.S. Open and Players champion Martin Kaymer, Masters champion Bubba Watson and three-time PGA Tour winner Jimmy Walker are the candidates.

The nominees for the Tour's Rookie of the Year Award include Brooks Koepka, Puerto Rico Open champ Chesson Hadley, and WGC-Match Play runner-up Victor Dubuisson.

PGA Tour members who have played in at least 15 official events during the 2013-14 season are eligible to vote. Ballots were distributed Sunday night.

Horschel has already announced his intent to vote McIlroy for Player of the Year.

The voting closes Thursday, Sept. 25, with the winners to be announced the following week.
