Phenoms Ko, Wie, Lexi grouped in Singapore

A phenom special highlights the tee times in Thursday’s start of the HSBC Women’s Champions in Singapore.

Rolex world No. 1 Lydia Ko, No. 6 Michelle Wie and No. 11 Lexi Thompson are scheduled to go off together at 10:04 a.m. local time. That’s a Wednesday night start in the United States at 9:04 p.m. ET.

Golf Channel’s broadcast of the first round begins at 11 p.m. (ET) Wednesday and runs to 3 a.m.

Ko, of course, is setting a new standard for teen phenoms. She doesn’t turn 18 until April 24 but has already won 10 times worldwide. Wie, now 25, became a worldwide phenomenon when she played in the final Sunday pairing with a chance to win at the Kraft Nabisco as a 13-year-old and shot 68 in a PGA Tour event at the Sony Open as a 14-year-old. Thompson, now 20, qualified for the U.S. Women’s Open as a 12-year-old and won her first LPGA title as a 16-year-old.

World No. 2 Inbee Park is scheduled to tee off Wednesday at 7:36 p.m. (ET) with Christina Kim and Caroline Hedwall.

No. 3 Stacy Lewis is scheduled to tee off at 8:42 p.m. (ET) with Karrie Webb and Angela Stanford.

Defending champion Paula Creamer goes off at 8:53 p.m. (ET) with Azahara Munoz, whom she defeated in a playoff at Singapore last year, and with Amy Yang, who won last week in Thailand.
