Would a Senior Ryder Cup do anything for you?
If so, great. If not, tough.
According to a Golfweek report, it seems one is in the works and it could be coming to a town near you as early as next year.
Potential venue, date and details have not yet been determined but the report states that the PGA of America, the PGA and European tours are all eager to get the ball rolling pronto. The format mostly discussed would pit teams of 10 seniors from PGA and Europe against each other squaring off for 30 total points, with 10 matches a day for three days.
NBC, which has rights to the Ryder Cup in the U.S., would televise the event and the preferred date for the matches is in a bye week for the FedEx Cup Playoffs, between the Deutsche Bank Championship and the BMW Championship.
The report says that a formal announcement for the event could be made at the PGA Championship in three weeks.
