Scott, Dufner among those playing in Sony Open

KAPALUA, Hawaii – Eighteen of the 30 players in the Hyundai Tournament of Champions field will make the short island-hopper trip to compete in next week’s Sony Open, it was announced Friday.

That includes second-ranked Adam Scott, who hasn’t played the tournament since missing the cut in 2011, but has a runner-up finish amongst his five career starts.

Other big names who have committed include Jason Dufner, Jordan Spieth, Matt Kuchar and Zach Johnson.

There are once again 144 players in the field at Waialae Country Club, which begins on Thursday.

Russell Henley, last year’s champion as a rookie, is also in the field.
