Scott looking for playoff momentum at Wyndham

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Adam Scott (No. 91 in FedEx Cup points) is safely into the first playoff event – next week's Barclays in Edison, N.J. – but he needs to step his game up if he wants to make it to the Tour Championship for the sixth straight year.

That's why the former world No. 1 is making his first start at the Wyndham since 2009, and he's looking to rebound after a surprising missed cut at the PGA Championship ended his streak of 17 straight made cuts in the majors.

"I haven't played a lot of golf this summer and disappointing the last couple of weeks for me," Scott said. "Result-wise, however, I feel my game is good, and it's a good time for me to play and, like I said, if I can just get a little bit of momentum heading in the playoff events, that puts me in good stead to play the next few weeks and then you never know."

The top 125 in FedEx Cup points make the first playoff event. After the Barclays, the top 100 go on to the Deutsche Bank in Boston, followed by the top 70 in Chicago for the BMW, and finally the top 30 qualify for the Tour Championship in Atlanta.

After notching 10 top-10s in 2014, which included a win at Colonial, Scott has only three top-10s in 13 events.

"I feel like I'm kind of getting into a nice rhythm this week, which is unfortunate because I always try to peak for the majors, and last week I didn't so it's always a work in progress. Hopefully I find it here."
