The PGA Tour caps its Texas two-step with the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship in Irving. Here are four featured groups to watch as early-round play gets underway at TPC Four Seasons Resort (all times ET):
This group includes three players who have already won this season. Walker went to Baylor and makes his home outside San Antonio, but he has yet to crack the top 20 in nine previous trips to this event. He'll be joined Johnson, who has three top-10 finishes in five starts in Dallas including a T-7 last year, and Bae, who won this event in 2013 and also captured the season-opening Frys.com Open.
Snedeker won earlier this year at Pebble Beach and nearly hoisted another trophy last week at Colonial, where he tied for second. Kuchar is traditionally a strong contender at this event, with top-15 finishes in three of the past four years, while Johnson is making his first trip to TPC Four Seasons since a missed cut in 2005.
This group features three of the tournament's most recent winners in Day (2010), Todd (2014) and Bradley (2011). Day and Bradley are both making their first start since missing the cut at The Players Championship, while Todd is in search of his fourth top-10 finish of the season as he defends a PGA Tour title for the first time.
Spieth and Thomas have been friendly rivals for years, first as junior golfers, then at college where they met during the 2012 NCAA Championship finals, and now among the professional ranks. Spieth enters off a runner-up finish at Colonial, while Thomas boasts four straight top-25 finishes. The group is rounded out by another young gun in Koepka, a winner earlier this year in Phoenix.
