The PGA Tour remains in Asia this week, which means more primetime golf for fans in the U.S. Here are four early-round groups to keep an eye on this week in China, as the year's fourth and final WGC event, the WGC-HSBC Champions, gets underway in Shanghai (all times ET). Thomas and Na just went head-to-head in Malaysia, where Thomas eked out a one-shot victory for his maiden PGA Tour win. Na has begun the wraparound season with three straight top-three finishes, including a playoff loss in Napa, but remains in search of his first win in more than four years. They'll be joined by Willett, who won earlier this year in Europe and challenged at the WGC-Cadillac Match Play but has cooled in recent months.
After capturing the FedEx Cup and starring at the Presidents Cup, Spieth makes his season debut this week in China, where he finished T-35 last year. He'll be joined by Watson, the event's defending champ, who won last year in a playoff after holing a bunker shot on the 72nd hole to force overtime. The group will be rounded out by Stenson, who continues a busy late-season stretch and enters off a disappionting T-47 finish in Malaysia.
This group includes three players who all teed it up last week in Kuala Lumpur, led by Matsuyama's T-5 finish. The Japanese phenom has now logged six straight top-25 finishes dating back to August, though he struggled at this event a year ago. Reed enters off a T-10 finish in Malaysia and will play in Asia for the third week in a row, while Garcia returns to an event he won in 2008.
Plenty of star-power in this trio, led by McIlroy who continues his comeback from a summer ankle injury and finished T-6 last week in Turkey. Fowler took a week off after a T-25 finish in Las Vegas and returns to a course where he finished T-3 last year, while Johnson rounds out the group. He'll be making his season debut on a course where he set the 72-hole scoring record en route to victory in 2013.
