AUGUSTA, Ga. – Jordan Spieth didn’t win the Masters, but being in contention on Sunday taught him plenty.
“Didn’t come out on top, but I can take a lot of positives away,” he said. “I think I’m ready to win a major, and that’s a great feeling.”
The 20-year-old held a two-shot lead at one point on the front nine, but Bubba Watson’s massive drives and creative shot-making were too much to handle as he claimed his second green jacket. Spieth and Jonas Blixt tied for second place, three shots behind Watson.
“It was so much fun, even if I didn’t show it there on the back nine," Spieth said. "Although it sits a little hard right now, I’ll be back and I can’t wait to be back.”
