Spieth recreates Deere bunker shot, makes it again

RSS

Jordan Spieth was already destined for golf greatness, but his hole-out from a bunker on the 72nd hole of last year's John Deere Classic got him there a lot faster than many anticipated.

The shot, which he called, "the luckiest shot I ever hit in my life," carried too far, but hit the pin and dropped into the cup for a birdie, which got him into a playoff where he won on the fifth extra hole.

Spieth was back at TPC Deere Run on Monday for media day, where he recreated his shot. This time he took a little more convential approach, hitting the ball high and landing it short, letting it roll gently toward the cup. But here's the thing, it went in again, because, of course it did ... this is Jordan Spieth we're talking about here.

Below is the original shot, for comparison.
