Stenson named European Tour Golfer of the Year

Henrik Stenson has been selected European Golfer of the Year for 2013, after having won the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup and the European Tour’s Race to Dubai.

His securing of end-of-season prizes on both tours was facilitated by three worldwide victories – the Deutsche Bank Championship, the Tour Championship and the DP World Tour Championship – as well as 12 top-10 finishes.

The 37-year-old Stenson, who succeeded Rory McIlroy, is the first player from Sweden to win the award.
