PALM HARBOR, Fla. – Henrik Stenson is used to a little congestion inside the ropes – volunteers, scorers, media members.
Seeing his 2-year-old daughter inside the ropes? Apparently, that wasn’t a new sight, either.
After the family drove over Friday from Orlando, young Alice Stenson ducked under the ropes and ran over to her famous dad as he walked down the second fairway at Innisbrook. He scooped her up, gave her a kiss and walked about 25 yards back to the rope line, where his wife and other two children were waiting.
“Not the first time,” he said with a smile. “She likes to be inside the ropes, like you guys.”
As for his golf, Stenson shot an even-par 71 Friday that left him three shots back heading into the weekend at the Valspar Championship.
“I can’t complain with too much,” he said. “Ball-striking, yeah, I’m not quite where I want to be, but we’ve got time to work on that.”
