Tiger Woods will defend his title at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational later this month, the surest sign yet that he’s back on schedule after surgery.
Woods is an eight-time winner at Bridgestone, including last year by seven shots. It marked his 18th career WGC title.
Barring a last-minute schedule change, the Bridgestone will be Woods' second-to-last event of the regular season. Having missed three months because of back surgery, he now has six weeks to climb into the top 125 in FedEx Cup points and qualify for the playoffs.
