The PGA Tour, LPGA and PGA of America issued statements in response to the USGA and R&A's unveiling Wednesday of 30 proposed changes to the Rules of Golf.
The PGA Tour supports the USGA and R&A’s announcement today regarding the joint proposal to modernize the Rules of Golf. We would like to thank both the USGA and the R&A for including the PGA Tour in the process from the very beginning. It has been highly collaborative and we are looking forward to receiving feedback from our members and other constituents in the world of golf. We also look forward to continued collaboration with this project as we approach 2019.
The LPGA applauds the USGA and The R&A for taking sweeping strides towards modernizing the rules of the game. The proposed changes (in both substance and format) will undoubtedly make the rules easier to understand for our players and easier to implement for our officials. We look forward to diving deeper into each specific proposed change and sharing our feedback with the governing bodies.
