UCLA's Law headlines first-team All-Americans

EUGENE, Ore. – The Women’s Golf Coaches Association announced year-end awards Tuesday at the NCAA Division I Women’s Championship. UCLA junior Bronte Law was named the WGCA’s Player of the Year.

Law, from England, collected seven top-five finished and three wins this year, including at the NCAA Bryan Regional. She finished ninth this week at the NCAA Championship.

“She’s been putting really well and hitting it more consistently solid,” said UCLA coach Carrie Forsyth. “I think she’s just very comfortable with where he game is right now and sees herself as one of the best, if not the best, player right now.

“She’s earned it. She’s always had the game.”

Additionally, Alabama's Cheyenne Knight was named top freshman by the association. She recorded six top-10 finishes and won the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. Knight tied for fourth place at the NCAA Championship and was Alabama's top finisher in nearly half of her team's tournaments this season.
