LOS ANGELES – Jimmy Walker is lurking again.
With a birdie at the last Saturday at the Northern Trust Open, Walker closed out a 4-under-par 67, giving himself a chance at winning for the fourth time this season, three times in his last four starts.
At 8-under overall, Walker is tied for sixth going into the final round, four shots behind the leader, William McGirt.
“I feel like I’m playing good, and I feel like that kind of carries over,” Walker said.
Walker made seven birdies Saturday, but three bogeys kept him from really pressing the leaders harder. He said he likes the risk/reward Riviera is presenting.
“I think it's fun, because you have to go out and make birdies,” Walker said. “And it’s there for the taking. If you go out and hit good shots, you're rewarded, but you still have to be precise.”
