Watson brings in U.S. Army vets to talk to team


GLENEAGLES, Scotland – European captain Paul McGinley went with Sir Alex Ferguson, a former Manchester United manager and soccer legend, to speak to his team on Tuesday at the Ryder Cup.

U.S. captain Tom Watson went a slightly different way on Tuesday.

Watson had a pair of U.S. Army veterans and wounded warriors, Noah Galloway and Josh Olson, speak to the American team.

“It's sobering. The players, they went up to them and asked them questions,” Watson said. “In this cauldron of pressure, it's great to have that kind of perspective. It's not that big a deal. We make it a big deal, but it's not that big a deal.”
