Michelle Wie is off to another fast start.
With a 4-under-par 67 Friday, she’s got herself in the hunt again early at the ShopRite LPGA Classic in Galloway, N.J. She trailed Inbee Park and Na Yeon Choi by a shot among the morning wave at the Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club's Bay Course.
“You kind of forget it’s a three-day event,” Wie told reporters after her round. “You forget it’s Friday, not Thursday.”
Wie has been making the most of her weekends of late. She is coming off five consecutive top-10 finishes. She was T-3 or better in four of them, including her victory at the Lotte Championship.
She moved to No. 10 in the world after finishing third at the Airbus LPGA Classic last week, cracking the top 10 for the first time in three years. She has soared from No. 100 in the world in the last 52 weeks.
