After an incredible start to her season, the last two weeks have not been kind to Michelle Wie.
After a win at the U.S. Women's Open and a T-8 in Arkansas, Wie failed to make the weekend at the Women's British Open and this week's Marathon Classic in Toledo.
Wie bogeyed the last three holes on Thursday to shoot 74, and on Friday she didn't do any better, posting a 76 to easily miss the cut.
The good news for Wie is she'll have a few weeks off to recharge her battery since she didn't qualify for the U.S. team at the International Crown. Quailifying ended March 31, and at the time Wie was the 10th-ranked American.
The LPGA schedule is empty the following week, so the next time we'll see Wie is likely at the Meijer LPGA Classic in Grand Rapids, Mich., which begins on Aug. 7.
In 16 events this season, Wie has two wins and eight other top 10s. Her two missed cuts represent the only times she's finished outside the top 25.
