PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – Michelle Wie struggled through Saturday morning’s completion of the suspended second round with flu-like symptoms.
With a 2-over-par 75, Wie missed the cut. She opened with a 76.
Feeling dizzy and ill, Wie sat down on the ground behind a tee box during one delay in Saturday morning’s completion of the suspended second round. She also slumped over her bag during another long wait, with her head resting on her arms.
“I woke up in the middle of the night with full-blown flu, with shivers and aches,” Wie said.
Wie played 14 holes of the suspended second round Saturday morning feeling ill.
“My driver felt so heavy, and I got dizzy looking down at the ball,” Wie said.
Wie wouldn’t withdraw.
“I was going to make it to 18,” she said.
