Wie, Watson win ESPY awards as top golfers

Michelle Wie and Bubba Watson both earned some hardware Wednesday without hitting a single shot.

Both players were named award recipients at the 2014 ESPY Awards, as Wie took home top female golfer honors and Watson was named top male golfer.

Wie has had a resurgent season in 2014, capped by her breakthrough victory at the U.S. Women's Open in June. She also won earlier this year at the LPGA Lotte Championship and beat out a field that included Inbee Park, Stacy Lewis and Suzann Pettersen.

Watson won the Northern Trust Open in February, then added his second major title in April when he won the Masters for the second time in the last three years. He won the award over world No. 1 Adam Scott, U.S. Open champ Martin Kaymer and reigning FedEx Cup winner Henrik Stenson.

Both players are back in action this week, as Wie tees off in the Marathon Classic while Watson is in England for the British Open.
