Woodland turns in record-tying 30 in Round 3


AUGUSTA, Ga. – Gary Woodland blitzed Augusta National’s front nine Saturday, tying a tournament-record by shooting 6-under 30. The score has been shot four other times.

Woodland opened with birdie on the first hole, and then made eagle on the par-5 second. He then birdied Nos. 6, 8 and 9 and quickly vaulted into a third-place tie, only four shots behind leader Bubba Watson.

Johnny Miller, Greg Norman, K.J. Choi and Phil Mickelson each shot 30 on the front nine in the past.
