Woods: Trending in right direction for 2014 majors

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – It’s a question likely to be posed, oh, a few hundred more times between now and April: How do the 2014 major venues set up for Tiger Woods?

On Wednesday, he answered that question.

“I've won at every one except for Pinehurst, and I'm trending in the right way,” he stated. “I've finished third, second. You get the picture, right?”

Indeed, Woods has won four times at Augusta National and claimed the 2006 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool and 2000 PGA Championship at Valhalla. He finished third at the 1999 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2 and second there in 2005.

All of which should be good news for the 14-time major champion, whose odometer has been stuck on that number since the 2008 U.S. Open.

“I'm looking forward to the major championship venues this year. They have set up well for me over the years and I look forward to it.”
