Koch named 2015 European Solheim Cup captain


Carin Koch has been named captain of the 2015 European Solheim Cup team. She will rival recently selected U.S. captain Juli Inkster in Germany at Golf Club St. Leon-Rot Sept. 18-20, 2015.

Koch was a vice captain in 2013 when Europe won for the first time on American soil, 18-10, at Colorado Gof Club. Europe also won in 2011 at Killeen Castle.

"I cannot wait to stand with the team on the first tee next September to start our quest for the hat trick of wins against the U.S. team," Koch said.

Koch played in four successive Solheim Cup matches between 2000-05. She compiled a 10-3-3 record, earning earning 11 ½ points, and was part of two victorious teams. She holed the winning putt at Loch Lomond in Scotland in 2000.

Koch named fellow Swede Annika Sorenstam as a vice captain.
