Amie, a native of Newport Beach, Calif., outlasted nine other competitors in the third installment of The Golf Channels popular Big Break reality series, earning exemptions to play in select LPGA Tour events.
During play, The Golf Channel producers will fit Amie with a microphone, allowing viewers inside the ropes and the opportunity to eavesdrop on her round and playing strategies. A separate camera crew also will follow Amie, compiling footage for the second installment of Danielles Big Break! A Week on Tour. The 30-minute special, which will air Monday, May 30, as part of Your Game Night, will follow The Big Break winner both on and off the course throughout the week, getting exclusive behind-the-scenes looks at her preparations in the days leading up to the tournament, as well as following her throughout the event.
Beginning the tournament week, Amie will be featured on Your Game Night, sharing tips and advice on the short game with Golf Channel viewers. Your Game Night, a four-hour block of instructional programming designed to help viewers improve their golf game, airs Monday nights at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Golf Central will feature nightly segments previewing the LPGA Corning Classic, as well as spotlighting Amies reactions and preparations for her second shot at the LPGA Tour. Golf Central airs daily at 7 p.m. ET.
Amie will put a cap on her second round with an appearance on Sprint Post Game on Friday, May 27, meeting with the Sprint Post Game crew to discuss her play in the opening rounds.
Dean Reinmuth ' one of top golf instructors in the world ' will return to guide Amie through her second LPGA Tour event. Reinmuth, who worked closely with Amie throughout her LPGA Tour debut at the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill, is credited with building the game of PGA Tour star Phil Mickelson. He has worked with several PGA Tour and LPGA Tour players, including PGA Tour pro Rory Sabbatini and LPGA Tour standouts Hee-Won Han and Amy Hung.
Amie isnt the only Big Break III contestant making waves on the LPGA Tour. Cindy Miller, 48, from Silver Creek, N.Y., has earned a spot in the McDonalds LPGA Championship, beginning June 9 at the Bulle Rock Golf Course in Havre de Grace, Md. The first two rounds will air on The Golf Channel. Miller, who advanced to the final three on The Big Break III before being eliminated by Amie, earned a spot in the LPGA McDonalds Championship by winning the 2004 Golf for Women Magazine LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Championship.
