Bethune-Cookman National Minority Champs

College CentralBethune-Cookman College of Daytona Beach, Fla., came from behind to capture the 2003 Division 1 National Minority College Golf Championship with a three-day total of 844, beating out Florida A&M University by 12 strokes.
 
It was Bethune-Cookman's third national title in the last five years.
 
Luke Miller and James Douris led the rally for the Wildcats with final round scores of 8-under-par 64, a tournament record, and a 6-under-par 66.
 
Florida A&M University senior Jay Sandhu closed with a 5-under-par 67 to take the Division I individual medalist honors with a total of 10-under-par 206.
 
Johnson & Wales University, located in Miami, Fla., took home the Division II title beating out Lincoln University by a whopping 38 strokes. Johnson & Wales had a strong showing from sophomore Michael Welch, who captured the Division II medalist honors with a total of 9-under-par 207.
 
Texas-Pan American outdueled Bethune-Cookman for the ladies title as they were the only two schools that were competing. Tied coming into the final round, Texas-Pan American shot a 313 on the last day to pull away from Bethune-Cookman by nine strokes. Stefanie Maynard was the overall medalist with a total score of 11-over-par 227.
