Billy Casper Golf to manage Bay Creek Resort Club in Cape Charles Va

(VIENNA, Va.) ' Billy Casper Golf (BCG) has been selected to manage the two award-winning, signature golf courses designed by Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer at Bay Creek Resort & Club near Norfolk and Virginia Beach.
At Bay Creek, BCG will direct all golf operations, including course maintenance, staffing and training, clubhouse management (food and beverage, merchandising, special events), golf instruction, marketing, public relations and accounting.
Bay Creeks Nicklaus and Palmer layouts were both named among Golf Digests Top 10 Best New Upscale Public Courses (2006 and 2003, respectively). They are prominent within Bay Creeks 1,729-acre, master-planned community with wooded estates, marina homes and golf- course condominiums. Nine distinct villages are situated alongside the expansive golf courses, 110 acres of lakes, 63 acres of beachfront, and retail, dining and open space.
Billy Casper Golf operating Bay Creek will further establish the resort as a world-class destination for golfers and homebuyers, said Oral Lambert, CEO of Bay Creek. The company brings proven success, first-class customer service and sound business judgment.
In addition to his unwavering admiration for the Palmer Course, BCG Chairman and CEO Peter Hill is thoroughly impressed with Nicklaus only Signature Design in Virginia.
Bay Creeks two distinctive courses are in the upper echelon of the Billy Casper Golf portfolio, says Hill. By enhancing the already muscular golf and social offerings at Bay Creek, the resort is poised to be a crown jewel of the region.
Under four hours southeast of Washington, D.C. and two hours east of Richmond ' on a sliver of land at the southwestern corner of the Delmarva Peninsula ' Bay Creek is an easy weekend getaway year-round. In addition to championship golf, Bay Creek boasts enjoyable activities, including a deepwater marina, boutique shopping, exquisite dining, walking trails, beaches and the endless natural beauty of Virginias Eastern Shore.
With many holes along the Chesapeake Bay and Old Plantation Creek, both layouts are lauded as players courses, providing diverse challenges for all skill levels. At 7,204 yards, the Palmer Course spoils golfers with a calming seaside feel, natural sand dunes, five sets of tees and perfectly manicured fairways and greens. The 7,216-yard Nicklaus Course features the same impeccable landscaping and is characterized by large waste bunkers and more than 100 formal bunkers. Natural beauty ' with azaleas blooming, shell cart paths, sea breezes, gulls swooping and the rare bald eagle ' are a feast for the senses over all 36 holes.
Opened along with the Nicklaus course in 2006, the training facilities at Bay Creek provide a bevy of lesson programs from PGA-certified instructors at its state-of-the-art practice facility with a chipping and putting green, five target greens with bunkers and a full practice range.
The 19,000 square-foot clubhouse replicates a 19th century stable and houses the Bay Creek Golf Shop and Coach House Tavern. The Aqua Restaurant, located in the heart of Bay Creeks Marina Village, is a preferred destination for weddings and other social outings.
