Golf Channel to Air US Open Final Round


The Golf Channel will give golf fans the opportunity to relive South African Retief Goosens dramatic victory at the 104th U.S. Open when it airs the final round Tuesday, June 22 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
Goosen displayed nerves of steel and a golden putting touch as he held off Phil Mickelson by two strokes over the final 18 holes.
During Tuesday nights four-hour special presentation watch as Golf Channel cameras follow the champion step-by-step after his final putt and hear what he had to say immediately after capturing a second U.S. Open title in four years. Plus, hear Goosens thoughts the day after his win in an exclusive interview from his Orlando home with The Golf Channels Kelly Tilghman.
Mixed in with Sundays final round will be a selection of the best highlights from Rounds 1-3, including interviews with several players who shared their thoughts about the challenges presented by the golf course.
Instructors Rick Smith and Butch Harmon and NBCs Roger Maltbie will join us to lend their analysis. Plus, Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee heads back to Shinnecock Hills Golf Club to recreate some of the pivotal shots that helped decide the Open.
Well also spotlight the controversial seventh hole and hear reaction from fans who witnessed the carnage during the final round. And well talk to Top 15 finishers Robert Allenby, Mike Weir and Steve Flesch about returning to next years U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2.
