Golf Channel Hires Vince Cellini


Vince CelliniORLANDO, Fla. ' Veteran broadcaster Vince Cellini has joined The Golf Channel, bringing his more than 20 years' experience in sports television to the golf network.
Following a career as a sports host for various Turner networks ' best known as an award-winning anchor for CNN Sports ' Cellini will make his Golf Channel hosting debut on Jan. 13. On that night he will welcome Arnold Palmer to the new television set of Golf Talk.
Cellini will be the primary host of Golf Talk. But his other duties will include co-anchoring The Golf Channels nightly news program - Golf Central - as well as special field assignments.
I am thrilled to be joining The Golf Channel team and very excited about my role with the network,' Cellini said. 'The Golf Channel is a first-class, growing network delivering a very popular sport, and it will be great to be a part of a strong organization.
This is a new chapter in my broadcasting career and, clearly, soon I will have no excuse for not lowering my handicap.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he began his sports broadcasting career at WJW-TV, where he was a three-time regional Emmy Award nominee for sports reporting. He joined CNN in 1989, where he won a 1996 Cable Ace Award for his work on CNN Sports Tonight and was a two-time nominee (1995 and 97).
