NCAAORLANDO, Fla. -- Exclusive coverage of the NCAA Division I Golf Championships will be televised on The Golf Channel beginning May 18, including tournament action from both the mens and womens championship finals.

It is crunch time for the nations top programs, as they battle through regional tournaments in the hopes of having the chance to represent their schools in the championship finals and follow in the footsteps of greats like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Annika Sorenstam and Grace Park who made a name for themselves and their schools in championships past.

Leading up to the finals, The Golf Channel will chronicle the action along the way, with dedicated stories on its nightly news program, Golf Central, and more comprehensive features on televisions only weekly program dedicated to the college game, College Central.

Tournament coverage will begin with the womens championships, bringing viewers the final three rounds from Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore., May 18-20. Calling the action will be host Steve Kashul, who will be joined by Golf Channel analysts Kay Cockerill and College Centrals Steve Burkowski. Due to a late West Coast finish each day, air times for each round will be 1 ' 3 a.m. ET, with each round also to be replayed the next afternoon.

The men will tee off on The Golf Channel, June 2-4, from the Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Md., near Baltimore. The final three rounds of the tournament will air each day from 3 ' 5 p.m. ET. Hosting the mens coverage will be Brian Anderson and Curt Byrum, with Burkowski reporting from the course and handling interviews.

Due to the complex format of the championship finals, the most compelling storylines and player performances may be revealed later in each round. Therefore, The Golf Channel will slightly tape-delay tournament coverage so the most relevant action is presented for a more enjoyable viewing experience.
