For golfers in North America, there is plenty to get excited about in 2014. A collection of new and renovated golf courses are reopening this year, highlighted by a trio of high-end properties around Cabo San Lucas featuring Tiger Woods' first course design to open.
GolfAdvisor.com rounds up many of the top new and renovated golf courses coast-to-coast in 2014, as well as a few that opened in late-2013.
Hawaii visitors will find the news at Makena Golf & Beach Club bittersweet. The course is reopening after over a year under the knife, but the course is expected to stay fully private. Meanwhile, Mid-Atlantic golfers can head to a new-and-improved course at Keswick Hall as well as take on a new, public Jack Nicklaus design just south of Washington D.C., Potomac Shores.
Meanwhile, one of the more anticipated reopenings in the U.S. this year is Poppy Hills (pictured above) on the Monterey Peninsula minutes from Pebble Beach. The course is scheduled to open on April 4th.
