PETER KESSLER
SHOW ME WHAT YOU'RE WORKING ON IN YOUR PUTTING.

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
ALRIGHT. ALSO HERE I'VE CHANGED MY GRIP A LITTLE BIT. I GOT A TIP FROM DAVE STOCKTON A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO, JUST TO GET MY HANDS WORKING TOGETHER

MORE. I'M SEPARATING A LITTLE BIT MORE AND TRY TO FACE THE PALMS IN, RIGHT IN THE GRIP, SO THEY CAN WORK TOGETHER AND NOT BEND OVER. THAT'S MY BIGGEST PROBLEM.

PETER KESSLER
WHAT WOULD CAUSE THEM TO FLIP? BEING CLOSER TOGETHER?

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
YES, A LITTLE CLOSER AND A LITTLE BEHIND AND NOT OVER. STRAIGHT ON IT, LIKE THE PALMS ARE STRAIGHT IN THE CLUB.

PETER KESSLER
OKAY... AND NOT, NO OTHER CHANGES?

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
NOT IN THE GRIP, NO.

PETER KESSLER
OKAY, WHAT ABOUT IN SOMETHING ELSE?

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
SOMETHING ELSE, YEAH (LAUGHS). OF COURSE YOU CAN ALWAYS IMPROVE ON YOUR PUTTING. I'VE BEEN TRYING TO SHORTEN MY BACK SWING A LITTLE BIT AND TRYING TO WORK ON THE FOLLOW THROUGH. NOT TO HIT IT UP. THAT'S ONE OF MY BIGGEST PROBLEMS THAT I DO, AND

PETER KESSLER
SO YOU WOULD TEND TO LEAVE IT SHORT WHEN YOU DO THAT?

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
YEAH, BECAUSE THEY DON'T ROLL AS GOOD IF YOU DON'T HIT THEM PURE ENOUGH, SO I JUST TRYING TO KEEP MY PALM FACING TOWARDS THE TARGET AND NOT MOVE UP TO THE SKY.

PETER KESSLER
ARE YOU TRYING TO HOLD YOUR FINISH THEREFORE?

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
YES... A LITTLE BIT

PETER KESSLER
AS OPPOSED TO A LITTLE RECOIL EFFECT?

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
YEAH

PETER KESSLER
OKAY

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
IN PRACTICE I TRY TO DO THAT BUT IN PLAY I TRY TO DO THIS.

PETER KESSLER
WHAT ABOUT BALL POSITION?

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
PRETTY MUCH. I HAVEN'T CHANGED ANYTHING, BUT THE KEY IS TO HAVE IT JUST IN FRONT OF MIDDLE AND THE HANDS JUST OVER THE BALL. THAT'S A GOOD POSITION, I THINK.

PETER KESSLER
GO AHEAD, LET'S, LET'S SEE YOU KNOCK ONE IN.

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
OKAY, I'LL TRY.

PETER KESSLER
THIS IS PRESSURE.

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
YEAH

PETER KESSLER
I ASSUME YOU DON'T USUALLY PUTT WITH THE THUMB RING.

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
NO I DON'T.

PETER KESSLER
SO IF YOU LEFT THAT

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
I FIGURE THAT'S WHY I LEFT IT SHORT.

PETER KESSLER
THAT'S OUR EXCUSE. LET'S HIT ONE MORE AND KNOCK IT DOWN.

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
OKAY

PETER KESSLER
DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE THE SAME RHYTHM ON YOUR PUTTING STROKE THAT YOU DO IN YOUR FULL SWING? IS IT THE SAME FEELING INTERNALLY?

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
YEAH I THINK THAT'S FROM PERSON TO PERSON HOW YOU ARE. HOW YOUR SWING IS IF YOU'RE A SLOW PERSON OR A FAST PERSON, AND IN ANYTHING YOU DO, AND THAT'S HOW YOUR SWING AND YOUR STROKE IN PUTTING GOING TO BE LIKE.

PETER KESSLER
HOW IMPORTANT IS IT, AND YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT BREATHING EARLIER, HOW IMPORTANT IS IT TO GET YOUR BREATHING RIGHT BEFORE AND DURING PUTTING IN A CHAMPIONSHIP OR A TOURNAMENT?

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
NOT THE BREATHING RIGHT BUT JUST TO GET ENOUGH AIR, OR LESS AIR IN YOUR BRAIN. THAT'S THE KEY IN THE BREATHING PART AND NOT TO JUST HAVE THE SAME PACE OF BREATHING BUT IF YOU HAVE TOO MUCH AIR YOU COULD FEEL A LITTLE BIT NERVOUS TOO MUCH,

SOMETIMES AND, OR IF YOU HAVE A LITTLE, NOT ENOUGH AIR, YOU'LL FEEL A LITTLE FAINTISH SO TRY TO GET THE LEVEL RIGHT.

PETER KESSLER
HOW DO YOU GET THE LEVEL RIGHT?

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
WELL, YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOU HAVE IT UNTIL YOU FEEL THESE KIND OF THINGS. IF YOU FEEL A LITTLE BIT NERVOUS TRY TO HOLD YOUR BREATH AND KEEP IT OUT. NOT TO, TO TAKE THE AIR OUT OF YOUR BRAIN KIND OF THING.

PETER KESSLER
THAT'S WAY TOO COMPLICATED.

CHARLOTTA SORENSTAM
I KNOW.

PETER KESSLER
LET'S COME BACK AND TALK ABOUT SOMETHING SIMPLE LIKE YOUR VICTORY LAST YEAR AT THE STANDARD REGISTERED PING. WE'LL TAKE A LOOK AT ALL OF THE GREAT SHOTS FROM THE WEEKEND IN JUST A MOMENT.
