Tommy Gainey won Big Break VII: Reunion and acquitted himself nicely on the Nationwide Tour. Now, thanks to some exceptional play at the PGA TOUR Qualifying Tournament, his next big break comes with the big boys.
 
Gainey is an exempt member on the 2008 PGA TOUR thanks to his tie for 19th at Q-school in December.

With only one TOUR start under his belt, this will be a new experience for the 32-year-old South Carolinian ' and one in which you can share.
 
Each Tuesday he competes, Tommy will be doing an exclusive video diary for GOLF CHANNEL. You can view sights and sounds to Tommys inside access on Golf Central and GolfChannel.com, beginning this week at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

Gainey participated in Big Break IV and then again in Big Break VII: Reunion, which he won. For that victory, he received a spot in the 2007 Nationwide Tours Cox Classic, where he ultimately finished in an impressive tie for eight.
 
Gainey then competed in the Nationwide Tours BMW Charity Pro-Am at the Cliffs, contending for the title on Sunday before finishing in a tie for 30th.
 
He Monday qualified for the PGA TOURs Wachovia Championship last year, opening in 74 before missing the cut.
 
A Q-school qualifier, Gainey has exempt status on TOUR ' but playing availability is still up in the air. Follow along throughout the 2008 season as he battles for tee times, battles the best in the world, fights to keep his card, and fights for yet another big break as a PGA TOUR champion.
