The 10 players that automaticlally qualified for the International team are, in order, Vijay Singh Ernie ElsAdam Scott K.J. ChoiRetief GoosenGeoff Ogilvy Rory Sabbatini Angel Cabrera and Trevor Immelman. The two players making the team as captians picks are Mike Weir and Andres Romero.

When the two teams last met in 2005 at the Robert Trent Jones GC in Virginia, the U.S. defeated the International squad 18 1/2 to 15 1/2. Tied going into the final day of play, the Americans dominated the singles format, winning seven of the 12 matches and halving another.
The U.S. has lost only one match in the series, that coming at Royal Melbourne in Australia back in 1998, in what turned out to be the most lopsided match in the series' history - a 20 1/2 to 11 1/2 International victory.
