Princeton Prevails at Georgetown Invitational

College CentralPRINCETON, N.J. - Sophomore Avery Kiser took medallist honors and Princeton took the team title at the 2003 Georgetown Invitational in Reston, Va., over the weekend. The Tigers came back from a two-stoke deficit on Day 2 and won by nine strokes to lead the 15-team field with a team score of 622.
 
Kiser won the individual crown with scores of 75-71. Sophomore Meg Nakamura placed fourth among all individuals with two rounds of 77. Freshman Emma Stachowicz shot rounds of 84-74 and senior Vanessa Redman registered rounds of 84-81.
 
Ivy foe Pennsylvania finished second with a two day total of 631. Host Georgetown placed third with a 638 and Long Island finished fourth with a 36-hole score of 640.
 
Senior Megan Milam (85-81) and sophomore Taryn Haladay (83-83) rounded out the Princeton scoring. The Tigers head to Virginia next weekend and compete in the William and Mary Invitational.
