Readers almost even on rooting interest for Woods

Tiger Woods was a polarizing figure among golf fans before Thanksgiving 2009. And he continues to be after his five-month saga.

In a poll asking readers if they would be rooting for Woods to win the Masters Tournament, 51 percent said yes, 49 percent said no.

Most poll questions tilt favorably to one side, but this one always stayed near balance.

In another poll question asking readers who was the favorite entering the men's first major, Woods received 36 percent of the vote, just two percentage points behind Ernie Els who was coming off back-to-back wins on the PGA Tour.

It seems even some of those who won't be pulling for Woods believe he will still be in the mix on the back nine Sunday.
